Wood Therapy

Wood therapy, also called maderotherapy, is a contouring massage technique that uses handcrafted wooden tools: rollers, contoured boards, and cups shaped to fit the curves of the body. Your therapist works each area with firm, rhythmic strokes to stimulate circulation, move lymphatic fluid, and smooth the look of cellulite on the abdomen, waist, hips, thighs, buttocks, and arms. The pressure is strong but adjustable, and most clients describe it as an invigorating deep massage. Results build over a series of sessions, which is why wood therapy is booked as a package of 1, 3, 5, or 7 sessions. Drinking plenty of water and staying active between sessions helps you get the most from each visit.

What to expect

Every session starts with a short consultation to understand your goals, problem areas, and preferred pressure. You are professionally draped for the entire session and undress only to your level of comfort. The session length you book is hands-on table time, so arriving a few minutes early keeps your full time on the table.

Tell your therapist about pregnancy, recent surgery or injury, blood clots, skin conditions, allergies, and any medication that affects circulation or sensation. Massage is adapted, or postponed, when a condition makes it unsafe. Coastal Therapeutics provides therapeutic massage and does not diagnose or treat medical conditions.
